Aegis clients run on mobile devices, detecting driving motion and reporting changes in context back to Aegis servers. The servers return instructions as to the functions to allow while driving, as well as save the context change and activity data in a database for use in reporting.

The reporting mechanism enables Aegis to gather the context status of all the mobile clients in real time. Aegis can provide this information to authorized third-party systems for use in customizing service based on context state.

Both projects consisted of technical validation of integrating Aegis context data with a Unified Communications (UC) platform along with visualization of how driving status information could be incorporated into existing third-party user interfaces.

Microsoft Lync (2013)

I was approached with a technical marketing description of the intended product function. I studied the description, identified where images could help tell the story, and produced diagrams and mockup of the UI integration.

Facebook Chat (2014)

Several months later I was approached with a similar integration proposal, this time to Facebook Chat (What’s App). I started with a written description of the intended product function. First I identified where images could help tell the story, then I mocked up integration ideas.
